Have you ever felt like you were moving slowly, having difficulty completing tasks, being forgetful, or simply unable to focus? Every thought requires a lot of effort to come through, and even when it does, you find that your mind is cloudy and confused. You might be experiencing mental fog. This term is not a medical diagnosis, and if you are not sure what is going on, please seek medical attention because a serious condition could be present. Visit your doctor or even an urgent care facility to make sure.
If your state of mind is not a physical manifestation of a disease or disorder, it could have a more spiritual base. I believe mental fog is a cloud of confusion created when chaos overtakes our lives. Negative emotions like anxiety, fear, worry, doubt, and anger kick up dust, making it nearly impossible for us to see. Our minds are flooded with negativity, most of which we receive from outside sources like the news, gossip, and making low-vibrational interactions with people. Your ears, eyes, and mouth are spiritual gateways and you have to protect your peace at all cost. If you are in a fog, be mindful of what you are consuming into your spirit.
What music are you listening to?
What shows are you binge-watching?
Are you doomscrolling on your phone – reading post after post of depressing or negative content on social media sites?
What type of conversations are you having with people at work and at home?
What is the internal dialogue that you are having with yourself?
Take a moment to observe your behavior and habits.
Are you living your best life?
Mental fog can be created or exacerbated by:
- Getting too little or poor-quality sleep
- Increased stress and anxiety
- Underlying illnesses
- Changes in hormones
- Problems with nutrition and hydration
- Adverse effects of medications
- Prolonged mental fatigue or burnout
Now that we have established what mental fog is, what steps can you take to lift the fog?
First, find a quiet place and be completely still. Let the negative emotions and thoughts settle away and tap into your divine source. Focus on your breathing.
Inhale Peace. Exhale Stress and Anxiety.
Inhale Clarity. Exhale Confusion and Worry.
Inhale Joy. Exhale Sadness and Lack of Confidence.
Inhale Love. Exhale Anger and Resentment.
Inhale Light. Exhale All That Goes Against Your Greatest Good.
Once you are still and restore your faith in the unseen, the fog lifts, and you can move forward with complete clarity. It takes a conscious effort to filter out the negative influences that we are inundated with daily. It is so important to stay connected with your Divine Source and co-create a life that is in alignment with your truest self and your true purpose.
Infinite Light
