As we go through life, we make connections with many people. Some people are just acquaintances. We meet them at school, work, or in our communities. Some acquaintances become friends as the connection strengthens. But there is a special group of people we meet who go beyond friendship. These people are as close as family, but the bond runs deeper than blood. There is a spiritual connection that, once established, can never be broken. This is your soul tribe.
You usually know you have met a member of your soul tribe at your first meeting. They feel familiar, as though you have met before or even known them your entire life. When you interact with them, your vibration is high, and you feel free to be yourself without judgment or criticism. Conversations with someone from your tribe energize you and leave you with a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you. Your tribe offers unconditional support and can help you evolve, especially during pivotal moments in your life. Your tribe does not simply share similar interests or hobbies with you; you share similar core beliefs and ideas.
Almost everyone has heard the term soul mate, but very few people understand that they have many people who are part of their soul tribe. A soul mate is a romantic partner who is a vibrational match and fosters a deep love that can last lifetimes. However, your soul tribe includes many people who offer the same level of love. In my tribe, I have people who have become like spiritual mothers and fathers, offering wisdom and mentorship. I have spiritual sisters and brothers who give encouragement and support, especially during difficult or dark moments. And I have spiritual daughters and sons to whom I pass along the information and tools I have acquired to help them on their journeys. Keep in mind that members of your family can also be members of your tribe, but this is based on spiritual resonance rather than blood relation.
Take a look at your life. Are the people around you supportive and encouraging, or do they drain you? Do they understand you and communicate easily with you, or do you feel lost and misunderstood? Do they know your authentic self, or just another version of you that you have created? Do they help you feel safe and support regulation of your nervous system, or do they send spiritual static into your life, disrupting your progress on your journey? Ask yourself these questions if you are unsure whether someone is a member of your soul tribe. I encourage you to disconnect from people who weigh you down and slow your progress, and to embrace those who propel you forward on your journey. God will send the people to you, but it is your responsibility to recognize their light and hold on to them.
Infinite Light
